Water and energy for everyone · Volume two
N09 Finding the right solution for the place
Places are not all the same. Some have plenty of sunshine. Others have wind or moving water. In certain places, we can study nuclear power too. Adults compare the possibilities and listen to the people who live there. The question is, ‘Which solution can help us while protecting people, animals and nature?’
Why do we study the needs of each place?
The solution must suit the place
- Local needs
- Compare
- Listen and assess
Places do not all have the same needs.
For the accompanying adult
The R12 version proposes comparing nuclear power, renewables, storage and integrated systems. Protection concerns people, biodiversity, the area and water resources. The idea of abundant energy and water requires resource balances and responsible use. A power station alone is not assumed to solve poverty, conflict, unemployment or every environmental problem.
