The story

Before going on, the woman in charge explains where visitors may walk and where they must stop. Tila stays with the children. Rumo moves his backpack out of the way. ‘What if we want to see inside a machine?’

Leo asks. ‘We will look at the pictures,’ Neri replies. ‘The doors and controls are for the people who work here.’ The adults at the olive mill follow procedures for cleaning and protecting food. The visit must respect them too. Ada draws two separate routes: one for the olives and one for visitors. Sami looks for a place to see clearly without going closer.

Let’s talk about it

Who uses the olive mill’s machine controls?

One possible answer

Only competent, authorised adults use them. Visitors follow the route and the instructions of the woman in charge.

A little activity

Our notebook — Find the visitors’ route and the olives’ route. Explain why they do not cross freely in the picture.
