The story

Rumo remembers the loaf in the previous story. Some slices were left because he had chosen for everyone. This time, he listens. Tila adds the dressing to suit the meal. She does not pour lots of it for fun. Leo asks for another small portion of the prepared food and waits for the adult's answer. Sami looks at the bottom of his plate.

‘What if something is left?’ Adults decide what can be kept safely and what to do with the rest. Ada draws a hand serving carefully. Avoiding waste does not mean having to eat more than you need. Rumo puts the cap back on the bottle. It is a small action, protecting a long journey.

Let’s talk about it

How can we avoid wasting food at the table?

One possible answer

Adults prepare suitable portions, listen to people and deal with leftovers safely. Nobody has to eat more than they need.

A little activity

Our notebook — Describe one way of caring for food that you saw in the story. You can choose asking first, serving carefully or closing the bottle.
