The story

In the garden, the table is ready, but the bottle will not always stay there.

Rumo looks for a place sheltered from light and away from sources of heat. Neri reminds them that contact with air can make oil deteriorate over time.

“That applies during waits in the warehouse and during transport too,” Curiosone adds. “Protection must continue all along the way.” Tila shows the cap: it must be closed properly again after use. Sami would like to keep that bottle for ever, as a souvenir. “Oil is used within the appropriate time,” Tila replies. “The memory can stay in the notebook.”

Ada draws the shelf chosen by the adults. Leo checks that it is not near the window. To protect what has arrived, sometimes it is enough to remember the right place and a simple action.

Let’s talk about it

What actions help store oil at home?

One possible answer

Close the container properly and keep it sheltered from light and heat, following the label instructions.

A little activity

Our notebook — Draw a closed cap and a sheltered place. You can ask an adult where they store the oil, without moving bottles.
