@ A.D.O.S. INTERNATIONALThe story
The visit begins near the scales, in the place shown by the woman in charge. The adults bring the olives to be weighed. A number appears on the display. ‘Does it count every olive?’ asks Leo. ‘It measures weight,’ she replies. ‘We also allow for the containers, so we know how much the fruit weighs.’ Curiosone greets the group. ‘I will help you understand quality and the oil’s journey to the person who buys it,’ he says. The woman in charge continues to lead the visit, and the operators do their work. ‘At the end, we also weigh the oil we obtain,’ Curiosone explains.
‘Then we can compare the two amounts. The olives’ whole weight does not become oil.’ Sami draws a crate and then the scales. Rumo looks at the adults’ work notebook: they record the result. Ada adds this stage after the olive mill gate. These are the same olives that left the grove, but now a new person has welcomed them.
Before reaching the machines, the journey includes a check and a piece of information to keep.
