The story

On their next visit to the olive grove, the group finds the young plant and the tree that gave the harvest. The little plant is still young. The large olive tree still has its green crown. Someone keeps caring for both. Leo no longer expects a crate of olives from the young plant. Ada opens the whole map: soil, roots, leaves, flowers, fruit, mill, checks, bottle and table. Sami adds the route taken by the leftover materials. Rumo looks at the blank space at the end. ‘We do not know everything yet,’ he says. Tila smiles at him. The story of this drop is complete. The new page is waiting for a real question. They will explore it together, with the time and people they need. Back at home, the children open the map with their parents. ‘Now we will tell you,’ Sami says with a smile. ‘Oil comes from olives. At the mill, the olives become a paste. Then oil, water and pomace are separated.’ Ada describes the aroma she noticed. Leo remembers the checks. The parents listen and ask new questions.

Let’s talk about it

Does the oil's journey end by forgetting the olive grove?

One possible answer

No. The oil has reached the table, but the trees keep living and needing care.
